How to Make a Transparent Signature (PNG) for Documents

A transparent signature is just a PNG of your handwriting with the paper removed, so it sits cleanly on top of any document. Here's how to make one in about a minute — no scanner required.

Step 1: Sign on white paper

Sign your name in dark ink on a clean sheet of white paper. Good, even lighting and a bold pen give the AI the contrast it needs to separate ink from paper.

Step 2: Photograph or scan it

Take a straight-on photo with your phone, or scan the page. Fill the frame with the signature and avoid shadows across the paper.

Step 3: Remove the background

Upload the photo to ISOLATE. The AI erases the white paper and leaves only the ink strokes on a transparent background. Download the PNG.

Step 4: Drop it into your document

• Word or Google Docs: Insert → Image, then set text wrapping to "in front of text".
• PDF: use the image/stamp tool in your PDF editor.

Tips for a crisp result

• Use black or dark blue ink — light or gray ink can fade into the background.
• Photograph at the highest resolution so edges stay sharp when scaled.
